Just got a call, did not answer. Caller ID said Litigation! They left message saying that it was urgent that I call them back! I am not calling them back! I pay my bills, therefore; I do not owe anyone money! Plus, I don't live anywhere near Texas! These calls are scams and need to stop!

They tried to say I owed $821 dollars. Iasked when did I take out this supposed payday loan. They said 2011 or 2012, they didnt have an exact date. I asked who is the creditor, they said I don't know. I said take me to court because I dont owe you NOTHING. I hung up, its a scamn

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
I received MULTIPLE calls from this office....they threaten arrest, license suspension, etc. for a loan they say I took out. They don't know who the original loan was from, they don't know the date, they're "guessing" at an amount....I contacted the warrant office of my local police dept, the Warrant Officer said this is a SCAM and I should report them, which I did with Consumer Fraud, and I've given the info to my local police dept. The number they call from is 210-585-2324...and TODAY....it's an "Urgent Call of Record" and I'm being told to contact the office IMMEDIATELY TODAY. They've been doing this for about 6 months now.....
Cops say ignore, don't answer, do give any info at all.....and REPORT them to consumer Fraud. Report them also to your local police dept.
