First call came in as unknown...........Said calling from the US Government and because I was a good citizen and paid my bills on time that I had been randomly pulled to receive $9200..............I started laughing, he asked why I was laughing and I told him to give me a break and get a life and then hung up.

Second call came today, two days after the last and this time it was listed under a Sonia Maldonado, pretty much same script except this time I asked how I would get the money..They asked if I would accept  money via Western Union, at which point I said "This is a scam and if  you call again I will report you to the Attorney General." I hung up. Will be blocking the call.......

Why our authorities are not doing anything about this. I keep receiving scam calls from numerous numbers, and they obviously hacked into one of out systems to get the names and the phone numbers. I believe that this is a homeland security matter. Our government has the technology and we had treaties with most of the world for extradition. I am worried about some poor people that are not advised enough, and they may lose all their savings in a phone call. I am calling my senator. Please, do the same. We have the power to stop this and put these people in jail where they belong.

Uhhh... not really.  Unless that's ALL that you want your government to spend your money on.

From the Consumerist on-line publication, March 12, 2015 at
http://consumerist.com/2015/03/12/why-do-robo ... arketing-rules/

"Why Do Robocalls Continue In An Age Of “Do Not Call” And Strict Telemarketing Rules?"
… the FTC receiv[es] anywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 complaints per month, with robocalls responsible for around 60% of those complaints.
… while the connection of the Internet to the phone networks has allowed for great telecom competition through VoIP services, it’s also made it much easier for robocallers to flood your phone with unwanted calls.
the ability of telemarketers to easily spoof caller ID information to hide their phone number makes it difficult for regulators and law enforcement to track down the source.
Kristi Thompson of the FCC explained that it can take her anywhere from five to ten subpoenas to trace a single robocall back to its origin — and that’s only if the information is still there. With AT&T alone processing 3 billion phone records each day, phone service providers can’t be expected to hold on to all their records indefinitely. Thompson says that if she hits a point in the subpoena daisy chain where the data has been deleted, “I’m sunk.” …

Still think we have the power to put your relatively trivial annoyances at the top of the government's homeland security priority list all of the time?

A better solution: educate yourself about these scams and the telephone and legal systems around the world and go get a call blocker.

Good fellow
These scammers are not telemarketers. They are claiming to be federal agents and federal employees which is a federal crime. I am not worried about myself-I a am more worried about our fellow citizens that may fall victim of their scam. If you could watch date line nbc, you can feel sympathy toward the victims that lost their entire savings to these kind of scams. If we go after few of them, we will send a strong message to the rest.
