I just got a call from this number and answered so I could tell them to stop trying to sell me Cable TV, phone service, or whatever they're selling. They didn't even give me a chance to tell them this since my "Hellos" were met with just a disconnected call (from their end). So they're getting blocked (which iPhone users can do by going to the Recent Calls section, pulling up this number's newly created contact card, and going to the bottom to block them). Aaaaaand they're BLOCKED now.
My fear is that they're just a service that checks to see what phone numbers are active so they can sell that list to others. If I (or any of you) suddenly start getting more phone/cable sales calls, I'd imagine the reason for the calls came from these losers. Trouble is, these kinds of lists are normally not immediately sold and used and you'll have to wait a while before getting your new surprise calls. This is just a theory though so take it with a grain of salt.
This number has been calling me about twice a day for the last two weeks. I have tried to call it and it is either busy or is not taking calls. They never leave a voicemail.
I don't know if this bot dialer recieves text or not, but I have the call reject list set up on my s5 to send this message to rejected calls: "This number is on the Do Not Call registry, your attempt to solicit will be reported." I doubt it make any difference to these parasites, but thats how I've handled it. I've got to others with San Antonio area codes rejected for the same reasons. Not sure why so many of these scams are coming from there lately.
