They call often-3x today so far. They never leave a message. If I'm at home I just disconnect the call. So many phone calls like this...you hate to answer the phone anymore...can't even be comfortable in your own home! I wish they'd stop!
Does this website really report these unwanted calls?
"Does this website really report these unwanted calls?"
No. This is just a discussion forum to help each other learn who an unknown caller is and what they might want. Sometimes useful advice is provided on how to report the calls to the correct authorities.
This caller is most likely running their scam from a call center in a foreign country using a VoIP service such as Magic Jack to appear to be calling from within the us.
This caller can be reported to the FBI Internet Crime Center here:
Got a call from a man with an Indian accent telling me he was "blah with mumble", that every time I log on to pay a bill or do my banking online, someone is trying to hack my computer and it is sending error messages to Microsoft. I asked him again what his name was and who he was with and he mumbled that so I could not understand except he said Microsoft again. Then he repeated the problem. I know this is a scam so I played along..."Oh you're kidding! Someone is hacking my computer? What shall I do?" He told me he needed me to go to my computer right now if I was near it and log on. I asked again if this was happening when I did my online banking (I don't do online banking)? He said EVERY time I got on my computer it was sending error messages. He needed to log into my computer to find the errors and block the hackers. Then I got ugly, told him I knew it was a scam, he insisted it was not, I told him I was calling the FBI, called him a lot of choice words screaming at him as to let him know I was on to him and told him if he EVER called my number again he would wish he didn't! and hung up! He was still defending who he was when I hung up.
Got 3 calls today. First two hung up when challenged. Third caller was a guy (Indian, I believe) who said he worked for Windows Live in Wilmington, DE and that they were contracted by Microsoft to contact registered Windows users. I only have Macs. He wanted to 'take over' my screen to look for malware. He said he would take my name off the call list. So did the second lady.
Below, it asks for Call Type. The administrator needs to add SCAM CALL to the list.
