I received a call from 2107626849 stating that were from API (Affidavit Processing Investigation) and that I'd taken out a payday loan from Advance LLC. I've never had a payday loan with "Advance" and never banked with the institution where they said the funds were supposedly deposited. The scary thing is that they had my name, social security number and former address. I will be putting an alert on my credit report.

They called me and had my WHOLE SSN (I already have a freeze with all 3 bureaus), and old address AND an old bank account. I did not volunteer any information. I know the freeze works because I was asked today to temporarily remove it so a potential employer could complete a background/credit check. They threatened 3 felony charges, a letter to my job and an arrest. They would only tell me that I had a payday loan with Advanced LLC who oversees these types of loans for over 100 companies. They would not tell me exactly how much I supposedly owed nor would they give me information to pass to my attorney. The longer I kept them on the phone the more hostile they became. I simply hung up on one of them and the I told the second one "F you" before hanging up on him.
