I called the number back and got a recording saying "Thanks for calling. The survey you have called for has finished." I never signed up for a survey.... Sounds smammy to me.
Received a call from 210-774-4479 didn't answer and no message left. Immediately after received a cal from 'TXCOP' 936-206-9856. Research on both numbers shows it to be a scam, someone soliciting donations for the slain police officers in Dallas. Both numbers appeared to be connected. Lowest of low that would prey on people like this. Beware.
Smarmy AND Wonky! Gotta hand it to these scumbags, though, They will glom on to any misfortune to make a buck. Jerks! I have stopped answering calls from numbers I do not recognize.. I block them without hesitation and have not regretted it (as in made a mistake) yet. Legitimate callers have legitimate caller ID's. that actually tell you who they are.
