That number called for me today. The lady was kinda rude with my wife and when my wife asked who was calling, she hung up. No mention of who she was working for. Tried calling back, but only got a busy signal.
I received a phone call around 6 in the evening from 210-892-0124. The man had a thick Indian accent and kept asking if he was talking to the right person. For some reason he wanted to be really sure he was talking to the right person. He said my husband and I signed up for some free gift and we did not owe him anything. When I asked what this call was about he said firmly "Didn't I just say that you did not owe me anything? This is a free gift to you." I again asked what the gift was and he preceded to verify my address before telling me. I became suspicious and told him that I asked him to get to the point which he was failed to do and therefore I'm hanging up.
Same thick Indian accent claiming he's from the Social Security Adm. and needed the name of my bank, and would give me a 7 digit confirmation number and the bank would give me $500. per month for the next 3 months. I wouldn't give him any info. and he became agitated and couldn't tell me my name, just my husband's. THEN tells me this is for ME as my husband is my guardian...DO WHAT???? I told him to cram it! I then called S.S. Admin. in Baltimore, MD and the FTC and made reports. Both agencies CONFIRMED THIS IS A SCAM!!! Obviously with a (210) area code, which is San Antonio, TX, NOT anywhere in MD! I hope they get this SLIME BALL! GET A JOB YOU SLOVENLY PIG!!! I think he thought I was a Sr. Citizen...REAL PIG TO PRAY ON THE ELDERLY...HE GUESSED WRONG...I'm his worst nightmare, which just became his reality!
My parents got the same phone call from 210-892-0124 this morning. Sounds like the same scammer! A male with a thick Indian accent claiming to be from the Social Security Adm. needed the name of their bank and acct number to deposit money that was owed to them. After they told him they would not authorize anything, he became upset and started raising his voice. After hanging up on him, he called back asking who would reject "free money". They hung up again and HE CALLED BACK AGAIN! They are worried because he knew their names and address. Please advise YOUR parents NOT to give ANY personal information over the phone. I, personally, NEVER answer "UNKNOWN" callers!!
