POSSIBLE SCAM! In fact, My9/Fox 5's Barbara Nevins Taylor did a story on this company, Rescue One, along with two other companies who basically take your money and don't help you get a job in the security guard field. All you're left with is a certificate and no job.

Rescue One is a New York City-based company that specializes in security officer training and placement—emphasis on the word "training." They don't do a good job of the job placement part, according to Taylor's report.

"The security guard training business is a good example of a business model that encourages people to believe that if they get 'training' they will automatically get jobs," says Taylor. "They may tell you directly or infer that you are 'guaranteed' a job if you sign up with their program and pay the money they request.

"We know only a few things in life are guaranteed and getting a job isn't one of them."

Do your research by visiting the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. Consider any upfront fees from any potential employer as "a red flag." Get your New York State guard license from a reputable company so you can actually put your guard license to use. Avoid companies like Rescue One and Front-line Security Agency Inc. (Queens Village)—they're only after your money.

Good luck!!!
