My friend is trying to get me to call it haha it's a rejection like... but I'm reading alot about how they are trying to get card numbers and info and they keep calling you back if you call them. So yeah who ever this [***] is girls can you please stop handing this number out and just tell the poor guy you dont want give him your number.
I received a call from a private number asking for the owner of our company (my father) by first name. He said he was Dr. Bradford and he wanted to discuss medical records with him. I could hear the familiar chatter in the back round that I have come to loath as it disrupts my work multiple times each day. The only problem was that the owner had just had a series of medical tests done several days before, so I had to be cautious in case this was a legitimate call. "Dr. Bradford" gave me his cell phone number and then asked me to give him the owners' cell phone number so that he could pass it on to his secretary or shoot him a "text" later. I pretended that I did not hear him and thanked him and made sure that I would relay the message. I immediately googled the number to find that it was the official new your rejection line. I called to make sure and got the automated message.
In all of my years of enduring telemarketing torture, I have never had one so brazen as to claim to be a doctor. This is absolutely disturbing and should be illegal.
I have to field a dozen or more calls a day from telemarketers calling for my boss. If I don't recognize the caller ID, I tell them that he's out of the country (frequently true!) and may I take a message? If it's legit (never so far!) I pass it on to him. If not, well, that's what trashcans are made for.
I, too, just got a call from "Dr. Bradford" who wished to discuss the results of my boss's latest physical. He gave me his "private cell number", as he would be in surgery all afternoon but really needed to discuss the results. ??? So I just looked up the "private cell number" and it's a "rejection hotline" number.
So tell me, please: why would a telemarketer use a rejection hotline number for return calls??? Kinda counterproductive, is it not???
This number just called my massage place, asking for me by name! Claimed to be from their corporate office and that they saw me come in on camera, that I was a known counterfeiters & that they have to ask me to leave. I said, who is this really? He then said Roy & that he was trying to stress me out and ruin my massage. He asked if he had & I said no, just amused. He said he goes there asked if my masseuse gives me happy endings. I said no. He said to tip her $20 & she would. I said, she's one of my best friends & that I highly doubted that she would. He said something about it being awkward. I didn't say anything further& hung up. Moron.
Someone called from this # at my place of work and asked for a client that was here for the first time and said it was kevin from the corporate office. So I figured it was her work calling her due to an emergency. "Kevin" said that she had a micro-chip in her and that he wanted to track her and that she was at my place of work. It freaked us all out, because it was the weirdest phone call, she had no idea whom this person was. I called the # back and it went to a rejection line of new york.
The caller ID for this # said urbancharlie.com. He said he was from the cable co evaluating my recent interaction with a call agent (which HAD occured). Called me a bunch of names.
