LET CALL GO TO MY ANSWERING MACHINE AS I DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE CALLING #. AS SOON AS MY GREETING ENDED I PICKED UP AND ASKED FOR A LIVE PERSON TO REQUEST BEING TAKEN OFF THEIR CALLING LIST. THEY IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING MY REQUEST. BLOCKED FUTURE CALLS.
You're right to be suspicious of these calls - these are definitely not coming from UncommonGoods. They're retailer of jewelry, baby items, household goods. Somebody has hijacked one of their numbers and is auto-dialing people at all hours of the day and night
Please be smart and don't provide any personal information to anyone who calls you. If a company calls you offering you free merchandise but they need your credit card info in order to send you the "free" items, don't fall for it. Report these calls to the FCC. When your phone bill comes in, check to see which number actually called you and report that as well.
This number came in on my cell even though it is on the do not call registry (like that really works)! The message was a recording from someone named Paul from some medical alert company. The recording said that since I was referred by a doctor that I was eligible for a FREE medical alert system. I have not been to a doctor for over four years! Either they are really slow or it is a scam! Over four years? I could have been dead by the time they called!
They just called. I answered to see who they are in the case this was an erroneous call, as I sometimes do get them. The message said my ordered item had come in, and when I hit one as requested, after waiting, the automated message said an error had occurred and when I called back, the number was busy. Now I did have yesterday yet another Card Services call and I yelled in the phone to stop calling this number, so this could be harassment. I also informed another called that they are supposed to respect the do not call list and hung up. At any rate, I will no longer answer this one.
I spoke with do not call folks and the problem is these numbers are spoofed and they can't trace them. I urge everyone to contact your legislator and demand these calls be made a felony and there be major law enforcement. There are too many folks taken in by this stuff or just plain sick of them.
