We have been notified by several customers and non-customers that there are fraudulent calls being made to persons in the Permian Basin where an automated system tells the caller that their Western National Bank debit card has been suspended and asks the caller to enter their debit card number over the phone. Western National Bank believes that these calls are attempting to obtain their Visa debit card number so that their card can be used to create fraudulent transactions.
If you receive a phone call from a person stating to be from Western National Bank, this is not from the bank and that you should never give out any card numbers or any personal information over the phone as neither Western National Bank nor any other bank would call you for this information. All banks would already have this information on file.
I live in area code 432 also. I didn't answer the call, but they called me twice on a Sunday. I don't know anyone in the 212 area code and I don't bank at Western National Bank either.
Called my cell phone on Sunday and a recording started out telling me that my debit card with Western National Bank was cancelled. Since I don't have an account with WNB, I hung up.
