I am with a large company computer security dept. We have have numerous calls from this # today. This caller is a scam trying to pretend that hes with Microsoft or similar company and that you have a virus or infected computer, he will ask you to go to your computer and check you CLSID # and see if it is CL888DCA60 by having you click start/run/assoc command at dos prompt, he will ask you to scoll to scroll to the bottom of the directory list and check the CLSID to see if it reads CL888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062. but guess what, multi millions of computers read this same ID so the victim sees that it is indeed their number and being unfamiliar with CLSID #'s either allows the person to access the computer remotely or provideds a credit card or payment info for antivirus software or service. They will clean you out, it is a scam, DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THEM. if they call you tell them you are calling the IC3 FBI division, (cyber crimes) they will immediatly hang up on you. again DO NOT tell them anything, do not allow them a shred of info, no credit cards and no access to your PC. also, microsoft will NEVER call your phone, EVER. good luck
Their website is 24x7mssupport.com. I confirmed that this is a scam. Both Dell and Microsoft confirmed this. They want your credit card and you to subscribe to their services. Microsoft and Dell never calls you unless you call them first. Do not give them access to your computer and NEVER give them your credit card numbers.
Just received the call from this number saying that they were promoting some phone company and that I was able to get a new phone etc. but you couldn't understand him very well because of his accent and you could hear the wind in the background
Indian man said he was receiving a ping from my computer - thought he said he was from microteck. Asked for someone that spoke english - no response. Wanted permission to take control of my computer - I again asked for phone # and he hung up????
