Received a call from this number with a pre-recorded announcement stating it was an attempt to collect on a debt.
After a few minutes a woman got on the line who claimed to be from "Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau" attempting to collect on a medical debt. RMCB is located in Elmsford, NY and has a number (800) 666-8097 listed on their website. They have no Manhattan location. When I asked this person to send me a statement or bill for the alleged outstanding $178 debt, she hung up. Using spokeo and whitepages.com, there was an indication that the service provider for this phone number is "Twillio," which is a tech company that provides "burner" phone apps to mask phone numbers. The Spokeo information contained no indication of name, address, etc. associated with the phone number, increasing my suspicion that this was a phishing attempt using a "burner" phone or "burner" app. I could be wrong, but it was very suspicious.
