The caller id comes up as Columbia University. This is a marketing scam. It's an automated message saying they are calling about my credit card. I don't have a credit card so it's B.S. If you try calling the number back it's always busy. What a scam.
Ever since I did an auto insurance quote through esurance.com my UNLISTED phone number has been sold over and over again. I get daily calls for solar panels, etc. Shame on esurance for letting this crap happen.
Answered the call out of curiosity. It was a pre-recorded message about lowering my interest rates. Said to Press 1 to talk about the offer. So I did.....pressed 1 and a guy came on the line. I told him I don't own a credit card so why am I getting this weird call. They hung up LOL
I received a phone call from this number on my work phone. As I usually do, I pressed the number to speak to them because they cannot legally solicit a business or business lines. I told the gentleman that it was my work cell and he was to take my number off his list. He replied "No. [***] you." and hung up. Tried to call back and got a busy signal.
Missed call. Caller ID said 212-854-6322. I did a search, and it came up Columbia University...??? Left no message. From the other posts, it seems to be a Lower Your Interest Rate..
