SCAM!!! Came up on caller ID as wireless caller. I received a call on a Saturday night from a woman claiming to be from Windows. I knew right from the start this call was a scam. I let her talk about all the error messages I have been receiving ( that I have not been receiving) and she asked me to be in front of my computer. I played along. She asked me to press the windows key and the letter R, I said I did she asked me what it said, I said nothing. She asked me to do it again. She then asked me to restart my computer. ( I never turned it on in the first place)  I said it will take a min to reboot, she said that was fine. While we were waiting (jokes on her) I asked her what  we were going to do. She told me we were going to run a program so show all the viruses I had on my computer. I then asked her how she got my home number. She replied it was from my Microsoft registration. I challenged her saying it was my work computer, she then asked if I was the only user, I replied yes and she said that was how. I challenged again that it was registered to my office and there was no way she would have my phone number, she would have my office number. There was a long pause as she whispered to someone then she hung up.

Got a call from this number.  The person was a woman speaking with an Indian accent.  She identified herself as "from the Window's Technical Department about your computer".  I thought this was interesting, since we have gone all Apple.  I said, "Oh, really?"  She hung up on me.

Got a call and a man with an Indian accent told me he was from "windows tech support" and that he was receiving error reports from my computer. I knew it was a scam because I could hear other people talking in the background, and professional businesses generally don't allow background noise in their calls.  He asked me to go to my computer and press the windows key and the R key at the same time. Then he asked me to type in 'eventwrt' and press ok. I said that nothing seemed to be wrong with my computer, and I would call back if I found a problem.  He said "This is completely okay and safe, everything will be right in front of you on your computer." And then i stated how I didn't feel comfortable with this, so he said okay and hung up on me.
