I got two very threatening phone calls saying that I owe $5,600 in fees from not paying a payday loan back. I told them I want proof fax the documents to me they said they couldn't that it was too late, there is a judgement against me and I will be very sorry if I did not pay them right away! HA! I told them I was calling the BBB and reporting THEM for FRAUD!!! The phone call quickly ended! They better not call me again! I am reporting them to the local police now!!
I have been getting voice mails on my cell phone and work numbers saying i need to call right away...very threatening saying i owe money from old payday loan? I have paid my payday loans...either way in the very broken english I think they said they would come get me in the middle of the night if i didn't call them back NOW. I am very concerned, I am so afraid someone at my job is going to get this call and i am going to get fired. I have kept the threatening voice message. Does anyone know how to get them to stop??????? Please help
I got a number today from this number also - it was threatening and said something like "You don't want to know what will happen to you if you don't return this call." I received the call at work as well.
Any info on who these people are and/or how to block them would be appreciated.
I got a threatned call from this number saying that I own money for a payday loan when I know I dont. This is a scam and I think there trying to get people bank account information. Someone needs to do something about this asap!!!!!
I just got a call from Jack Roberts from a Legal Affidavit firm in CA. He said that I took out a payday loan in 11/2006 for $300 and never paid it back. The call started off with a man with an indian accent asking if me if the last four digits (which he read off correctly) were correct. I refused to answer and asked why he was asking. He went on to ask who my attorney was and I replied that I didnt have an attorney...He said, wow, you dont have an attorney for the charges you are facing? I asked what the charges were, and he read of three charges, which were theft by deception and a couple of others. I told him that I had never taken a payday loan out in my life, and he said that they had all of the documents to prove it. I asked him who the police officer in charge was, or the court that the affidavit was from, and he said that I would be receiving all of those documents tomorrow. He then read of my entire bank account number, along with the full name of my bank, and said that I needed to settle this. I knew from the beginning that this had to be a scam, but I went on to ask him what his phone number was, and he said it was 213-221-1440.....I called my bank the second I hung up, and she encouraged me to close my account...I was also encouraged to look up the phone number on google, which thankfully brought me to this and other sites that showed me that other people had experienced these same calls. This isnt right, these people are illegally gaining access to our personal information, and it's causing us to have to switch or close bank accounts, buy new checks...etc. Hopefully, by continuing to get the word out, we will be able to prevent others from having to do more than just close their bank accounts and buy new checks. I dont want these ignorrant people to gain a penny from anyone, especially innocent bystanders. Any idea what, if anything can be done about this???
