Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Same thing happened to me, but I received multiple messages. I tried to return the call several times but kept getting a voicemail of a Jack Wilson. Today I spoke with a Rose Gilbert. She said my case had already been turned over to the police and that a warrant had already been issued for my arrest for tax fraud and theft from the US Government. Which is false because I file on time every year. I checked with the police and there was no warrant out for my arrest. Not only that, but the police are aware of this scam and told me not to answer my door but to call 911 if someone tries to collect from me at home. They knew lots of personal information about me. I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Got the same call. As a former intelligence agency slug, I would guess this is the redux of the old Nigerian 419 scam. If you owe the gov money, IRS, etc, they will send you a letter.
Two of these calls on voice mail in as many days. No mention of U.S. Treasury, but do say "legal department." Second was from this number by "Ben Thomas." Did not call back. First was from "Kevin Miller" at 749-596-7486. Did not call back. I can forward messages if I know who to send them to.
