Received 2 back to back calls from 231-261-0748 on 7/1AM. No one there. Returned the call and got a recording that the party on that number is "Robert Matthews" and that he is with "Legal Affairs of U.S. Treasury". ,
Same as others. Called my daughter and threatened to arrest her unless she sent $1200 immediately for her 2012 taxes. She does not owe any money for taxes. SCAMMER!
This gentleman by the name of Robert Matthews ID # 11545 Stated that he was with the US Treasury Legal Affairs with the Federal Government. He then stated that the detectives were on their way to my home with law enforcement to collect $1200 that I owed money to the US government and that if I didn't have the money when they got here, they were going to arrest me. I knew that I owed no money to the government and it was a scam. Please help me in solving this issue. immediately.
Most of the IRS scam calls are out of India.. Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
