Called and tried saying there's "a complaint filed against me that is tied to my social security number" but that's all. Stated he would give me the number to call, and a case number for further information, after I validate my social security number. I was in traffic and was abruptly hung up on.
NEVER validate your SSN with some random stranger who calls you. The language used "a complaint filed against me that is tied to my social security number" is what foreign extortionists use all the time.

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.
For extortion Scam Operations, file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..
Caller ID read "unknown name". I didn't recognize the number, but picked up anyway. No one spoke within the first couple of seconds, which means it was a robocall. I hung up before a human could get on the line, which was good since obviously this is another scumsucker scammer.
They didn't call me, they did something worse because they called my cousin saying that I have a 48 hours to call them to 855-731-5140 or I'll be in trouble and left a case #, what to do with this people?
