Here is what's going on. At some point in the last 5 years you applied for an online payday loan. Weather you got the loan or not does not matter. Payday loan systems are a victim of hacking more than they lead you to believe. A lot of time when you apply for a loan at one company you trust it is sent to multiple other companies to try and get you approved. And sometimes these other companies security is not up to par. Once the hackers gets in they look for delinquent loans and loan request that were not approved. This is how they know your employer information and your personal info. Whatever you put on the application when you applied. That’s why they may be calling your old employer or have an old address. As far as the name of the company he says you owe. Its phony the BBB has been trying to track down this supposed company for about 3 years now. You can look it up on their site. He is not in the U.S so there isn’t much you can do but block the number. I tried to get an address out of him to send a payment. I was told they don’t get mail. The only way I could pay was a western union transfer. And I couldn’t get the info on where to send the payment until I was at the agent location and in line. Yeah that sounds legit. Best thing you can do is not to engage him at all. if he knows someone will answer the phone he won’t stop
I got a call from this number who said that we needed to call back or face legal action. When I called they said they worked for the Treasury Department. The person had a heavy Middle Eastern Accent. No disrespect meant but it seemed odd that when I called back later, I talked to another person, with a heavy Middle Eastern Accent and when I called a third time, I spoke with yet a third person with a heavy Middle Eastern Accent. Just seemed odd that everybody working at the Treasury Dept. speaks with a similar accent. I wanted some details which they could not provide. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he said there are no supervisors. When I asked who I could call to confirm that they were who they say the are, he said there was nobody I could call. Finally when I demanded to speak to somebody else, he hung up on me.
Someone from this California number 213 289-3751 has repeatedly called my cell phone - also left a voice mail - heavy accent which I believe to be East Indian - says name is "Danny". Said calling from Department of Legal Affairs. Suggested that I have my attorney return the call and if I fail to respond I would be "getting into serious financial trouble". Caller was not well spoken. I am in a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy since July 2012 - every creditor was given opportunity to get in line for payment plan. Only one did not. I suspect that this loan company may have sold that debt and this company is now attempting to get payment from me. I am contacting my attorney this morning. I have no intention of speaking to anyone affiliated with this company.
They did the same thing to me as work today.... they called the police. I'm not sure if it will help or not. I think this is a scammer what do you think?
Same people calling wanting payments for an old "pay-day" loan they say I had from 4 years ago. Been going round and round with these people for 4-5 months now. I have paid them some money (Big Mistake I Know). They seem to be relentless in their quest. When I don't answer after a few times, they have called my work place and threatened my associates and called them names as well as said they were liars for saying I was not there when I wasn't there. I believe the guys last name is "Watson". The money that I have sent has been through Western Union. The make me send the money to an individual which seems weird. Take Care and watch out for these guys. I asked for a balance left I owe and they say I still owe 1400. and I have already given them that much. A little 500 cash advance which I don't remember obtaining will cost 3000. Tell me they are not scammers and crooks.
