They called my very private cell phone number at 1:41 PM PDT on 14 June 2016. I did not answer. The message was silent, then a woman's voice said "Goodbye." My phone numbers are on the Do Not Call list. I will report them to DoNotCall.gov.
EXPLANATION - This matches two recent spam phone call patterns that I am seeing:
1. They use a Caller ID phone number very similar to yours (sometimes in a different nearby area code). Because the seven-digit number is similar to your own phone number, the spam caller may be trying to trick you into answering by appearing like a valid office extension that is close to your own office phone number.
2. The silent message with "Goodbye" at the end. This is designed to trick you into calling them back, to find out what message you may have missed.
