they called tonight, at 8 pm. I saw on the caller ID that it was a telemarketer from another area code, so I messed with them. They asked for my wife by her maiden name, unused the last 2 years. We yanked their chain until they hung up.
I keep getting calls from these people. The represent Windham Hotels (or at least thats what they say). I have told them more than a dozen times to put me on their do not call list, and they just keep calling! I plan to contact Windham first thing monday morning.
Today I got a call from this number at work, and my cell rang at THE SAME TIME! Somehow they called both numbers at the same time. I answered the work line and was greeted with a recording saying the call was from an "Unknown Caller". I answered it and there was a woman on the other end who did not speak very much English. She asked for someone whose name I could not make out, and she said he was supposed to be a guest at the Windham. When I asked her what number she had tried to call, she read off a number COMPLETELY different from my work number. She apologized and hung up. There was a tremendous amount of noise in the background.
I also just got a call from them. Looks like they are back at it a year after your posts!
I got an ID that said "Pioneer Communi" and they told my wife we won a free trip to Florida. She instantly took it for a scam (good wife) and told them "We aren't interested goodbye" and hung up on them.
They too found out our name, but no more than the last name.
Today, I received a call from this number at work. The person on the other line claimed a customer who stayed at a Wyndham Hotel recommended me for a special promotion. He said that the market department did not provide that person's name (so I couldn't confirm whether or not I knew them), but the gist of the promotion: I provide some information and in turn, I get a VIP stay at a Wyndham Hotel and provide feedback on my stay.
Apparently, 213-316-7141 is a residential number in Los Angeles, CA. I'm going to contact Wyndham to see if this promotion even exists. If not, a friend/co-worker recommended that I contact the Los Angeles vice squad and report the caller!!!
