Just got a call from 213-333-3206 claiming the whole "your gonna crash your computer" "using microsoft windows" "sending error reports" stuff. Told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call. Looked up the number and well you know the rest if you are reading this.
Im from the netherlands. I just got a call from a man who knew my name. He had an indian accent. He said his name was russell and he worked at the headquarter of windows in london and that i have some problems with my windows on my computer. He told me that when i connect to the internet, a virus wants to enter my computer. Therefore i should immediately switch on my comp and he would guide me and fix the problem. I told him that i'm not interested and ended the conversation.
I dont trust it so i googled this number and i see that more people get calls from this guy.
I just got the same call from that number. Asked me to verify my name, which was the only thing I could understand. I reminded him that they called me. Kept saying that I couldn't understand and that I needed someone who could speak English. The guy got a little testy with me. Told him I was keeping track of the calls and wanted off their list for about the sixth time. We'll see. Hope too many people don't get scammed.
