PROBABLE CRIMINAL FRAUD/SCAM - Robotic voice mail left today stating the "IRS" is filing a lawsuit and to call back the "Department" "immediately" to get status on the case file at (213) 361-3514. Same exact message left earlier this month but with a different call back number: (562) 716-5645 on Monday, August 1; (562) 716-6285 on Tuesday, August 2; (562) 650-7332 on Wednesday, August 3; (213) 709-5463 on Thursday, August 4, (510) 813-8752 on Friday August 5, (714) 813-7407 on Tuesday, August 9. The real IRS does not do business this way and has issued a notice about this type of scam. According to recent news reports, the scammers are often not from the USA, prey on the elderly, and attempt to steal identities or acquire bank card information through intimidation.
