This caller was claiming to be from Microsoft. That was a lie. Microsoft does not call consumers at home.
These scammers call and try to tell you that your PC is infected.
It's a scam. I laid into the guy with profanity until he hung up.
There needs to be a Call Type for FRAUD.
Same thing happened to me. I knew it was a telemarketer before I picked up the phone. I actually enjoy screwing with them. He told me he was calling about my computer. I told him I don't own a computer, We banter back and forth until I called him a dirt farmer. He then hung up.
Said my hard drive was failing and he needed to help me keep it running. Said I had already been contacted by their guys and loaded Team Viewer and everything. Said they messed my computer up. He said that those were other guys and he was with Ibex. I strung Apu "John", Hindu guy along for over three minutes and then asked if he had a dot on his forehead. Said I heard other Hindus in the background. Then said I used Linux. He hung up on me.
