Received same call. No identifying information. I just let it ring. Another weird thing I am receiving are calls from short numbers. One for instance, 1002, came up on my phone the other day. That isn't the first time. I solved the solution about a month ago by getting a new phone and number. My old one is just about off contract. And when it is, guess where it is going!
I have no information on who called or what the purpose might be. The phone number appeared on my TV with the line that said Los Angeles, CA. I checked here as I usually do, but apparently no one has filed a report as yet. I had a phone call earlier today from 305-368-8365, which is apparently a major scam operation. I did not answer that call either (I just click on the phone after the first ring, and say nothing until the automatic disconnect 30 seconds later. That in itself is a signal that it is an automated phone call when you don't hear any voice or no one saying "Hello?" or any background noise. Don't know for sure, but the two numbers may be connected, because after the first call, I immediately contacted my phone service provider and block further calls from that first number. I'll keep trying to find out something so I can report more here.
Which leads me to something else that is happening that angers me almost as much as these phony calls. I used a search engine to look up the number on the Internet, and was told they found a name and number, then wanted my credit card information to bill me 90 cents and sign me up for a free trial for the phone search service. That is uncalled for, and unfair as it probably traps many people into something they don't really want or even need.
