"This call is for So-and-So. I'm calling from CPS. I need to set up a delivery of legal documents. Apparently there was a refusal to sign for these on your behalf. To avoid further legal issues you have two hours to call the firm that paid for services their number is 213-437-3794. This is in reference to complaint number xxxxx-xx. Again you need to call 213-437-3794. Now."
Called the number and person who answered claimed to be a process server and that he was giving me the opportunity to take care of this issue, since I was about to miss my court date. A). Process server will never contact you about serving you, nor will they tell you that they've been attempting to deliver legal documents.
B). How in the hell would they know I'm about to miss a court date? Oh yeah, that's right cause it's a scam!!!
And come on, CPS? Really? Wait, of course really, cause when you google it, all that comes up is Child Protective Services.
Beware of this one! Fake fake fake! I pay my bills and I don't have anything in collections. I monitor my credit report religiously. So sick and tired of third parties selling off my number to scammers that think they can threaten me and that I'll fall for it.
