Received a call telling me they were from Microsoft support and someone was using my computer at 2 to 4 am wouldn't tell me what they were receiving they gave me this number to call back and the person on the other line was really confused and then said oh one of my technicians called. I advised them that I know they were pulling a scam. They also gave me a fake ip address and wanted me to give them my info.

I got into almost the same situation...I told them I was nervous and confused. Everything I opened, I can't log out. He had a Nigerian or Indian accent, he was commanding me to type in information and felt this was a scam, so I hang-up!
someone called to let me know i have problem with my computer claiming he was from windows ...kept passing me on from person to person untill i hung up
I've received this call twice in 2 weeks. Told me the same virus story and that my anti virus would not be able to detect it. They wanted me to type in my computer ID number and they'd help me. I told them I was not comfortable receiving a call from a private number and doing this. He told me I could check it myself and them call him back at that number...23-438-9900 for their help. When I received the call it just came up out of area.
