They called me today and said they were with Microsoft and that I had viruses on my personal computer. Gave me a fake IP address, I know mine, and told me I was running Windows 7, when I have 8 on all 3 of my personal computers. Super thick accent and couldn't recover when I told him he had the wrong IP. Jerks.
I just created my own personal policy of NOT answering a call unless I recognize the number, period. No exceptions - if its a friend they can leave me a message; if they don't then they really didn't want to contact me all that urgently... lol
I assume it's a scam. Someone with a super thick accent left me a massage saying he was from the IRS. He said a warrant has been issued and my physical address is under investigation, but he couldn't give details in a voicemail. He left the number 917-745-9641 as the callback. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to represent yourself as an IRS agent if you aren't.
I've talked to this guy twice and he hung up on me both times. I am from D.C and KNOW the federal government doesn't call like that.
Ha, IRS my [***]...
Don't believe him!
Scam, crap
