My business has been receiving calls from people who barely speak English (regardless of where the call supposedly originates) asking a lot of questions about business hours, prices, how many people work here, etc. Often they repeat information given back to whomever answers our phone as if they did not quite understand the answers they received. When asked who they are, or what company they work for, they immediately hang up. My company keeps a log of how many and what types of calls come in. We get up to 5 of these per week now. This one started the same way as all of the others but since I answered the phone (and I'm suspicious) I asked "Daphne" what company she works for. As usual, she hung up on me. An hour later another call from the same number came in, I answered, and a man told me (in broken English) that my computer had contacted him and he needed me to allow him remote access for it to be fixed. This is one of the biggest scams out there. I told him to stop calling and hung up. I am systematically reporting each and every one of these overseas scammers with spoofed phone numbers to the authorities.
