Call from scammers - claim to be from the treasury department, talked about an open legal action against me. Identified himself, with a thick Indian accent, as Tom Cooper, and transferred me to another guy, another thick accent, named John Spencer. They left a message; it was a guy with a very heavy accent reading from a script. Something about "Legal Affairs" and an "Urgent matter". I was supposed to have my attorney call back...yeah, right. I could barely understand the phone message. I called back alright. I told him he had marbles in his mouth and in his head as well. He tried to imitate me, so I let him have it. I just said lots of silly stuff in a loud shrieking voice and didn't let him speak. I'm sick of these stupid phishing calls...maybe I'll call back again the next time I'm bored.
A guy with a thick accent identified himself as badge #21056 claimed to be calling from Department of Legal Affairs and wanted to transfer me to 'Thomas' , a U.S. treasury officer. If I don't allow the transfer to take place, Thomas will then proceed with legal action against me!! I told him I will need to investigate this matter first. So ,here I am, checking this number on Google and thank you to those who took the time to expose this scam.
I live in San Diego and on April 16 received a call claiming to be from Dept. of Legal Affairs. I recognized this scam because our neighbors were fooled and called the police. Indian accent and reading off a script. When called him out he said I was a criminal and he would make sure I was behind bars in 45 minutes! Would love to expose these low life scum bags!
I received the same message from a guy named Tom or Strom Cooper with the Department of Legal Affairs. Said pretty much the same thing that everyone's posted...that enforcement action would be taken against me...suggests I retain an attorney and have him return the call...a very important issue...and the same phone number (213)536-0603. I'm glad others have received this message, too. I wonder what we can do to stop these people?
