I just got a call from this number 213-622-9999, The Label Gallery. Nothing but silence on the line.
About 20 minutes before this was a call from a Private Number, again nothing but silence.
About 30 minutes before that was a call from 412-430-5688, silence again.
I'm now thinking they all are from the same caller. Since my number was recently added to the National and State Do Not Call lists, I'm wondering if some kiddie got hold of the list and are pranking? Maybe some laid-off telemarketer looking for revenge against all the evil people who put him out of work by Do Not Call listing?
This is an India based scam claiming to be the Windows Service Center or Windows Tech Support. Google Windows Service Center and watch the you tube video on this scam. The caller ID says Label Gallery which is probably a legitimate business whose number has been high jacked. A woman will first start the call and the a "senior tech" takes over. They want you to download a program allowing them access to your passwords and files. Have some fun with them, but don't be taken!
I just got a call from a "Label Gallery" in Los Angeles. They called at least twice before today, and like everyone else, I suspected that it was a scam. I let it go to voicemail. Like Bob, I've received India-based calls from a supposedly legit Windows Service Center a number of times over the last couple of years, but the calls were coming under a different name or Unknown Name. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION if you do take their calls! If you're so inclined, play with them, as Bob suggested, and waste their time long enough so that they may take you off their calling list. I shut them up quickly enough by telling them that we only have Apple products in our home, although I do have a Windows-base desktop computer in my office as well! lol
