the phone calls are a scam from India. It is being investigated by the Canadian officials however after speaking with them it is my understanding that as the calls do not originate here they have to work with the indian government to stop the scammers and the indian government is not co-operating in catching them. the Indian government is very corrupt and will likely do nothing to stop these annoying [***] from calling u. Only real option is to pay for a call service which blocks telemarketers by making them place their phone number before being put through to ur line which u then must accept their call. Other then that change and get an unlisted phone number. I have been recieving calls from them now for nearly a year and a half if anyone knows how to stop them PLEASE do so!
I have been receiving calls from 213-629-1731 for over 3 months now.
Recently they are getting more frequent, like about 5 - calls per day.
How can this be stopped?
I receive over 5 calls a day from this number. Someone said it was someone posing as a microsoft guy. I unfortuneately fell for the scam and paid them to fix some computer issues I was having. I won't take their calls anymore and won't give them any more money. I believe it is them. It makes me sick that in Canada, Bell Canada profits from blocking these type of calls. This should fall under "stocking" laws as far as I'm concerned. It's the principle, I don't want to have to pay $ 72/yr to block it.
