Can anyone tell me if they have had a significant increase in the amount of telemarketing/ Spam phone calls - I receive 4-6 a day and I am SUPPOSED to be on the do not call registry. I am about ready to change my number!
I was called by a women that said her name was Rose Kelly and she said the US Treasury dept was going to give me a grant for $7,000.00 all i needed to do was call 202-670-2406 and give the code number she gave me. She already knew my address.
Just received a call from this number. When I answered, a guy with an Indian accent said "Hello this is James calling from the United States Federal Grants department". He said that I had been selected for a personal grant and that he needed to confirm my name and phone number. I told him that I needed his number and extension so I could call him back and he hung up on me. I could here other people (with Indian accents) in the background reading a similar script. I will report this number on the FTC website, especially because they were pretending to be a government entity.
Answered knowing it was spam, said Hello and nothing else. Long pause then an beep and automated voice saying "Good-bye" I am on the DNC list... doesn't do any good.
Received a call from "United States Federal Grants department" that I was qualified for the grant of $9000 and just needed to call back to 4157375579 and tell them my "money activation code" to receive this money with Western Union. They knew my address, my email already, asked me what do I do for a living and my marital status. I played with them, saying some wronf information. Gabe no idea where they get my info and what they want. But definately bocking this number.
