Another call for Senior Citizens eligible for $3,000 worth of groceries. I've blocked this number also. Received a call yesterday about credit card services and when I punched the right numbers to talk to someone, he hung up on me when I requested my number be taken off their list. Nice government services, huh?
What do you mean "Nice government services, huh?" Are you under some delusion that the government has a magical power that can preemptively stop criminals from calling you? The Do Not Call list is just that, a list of numbers that legitimate telemarketers register and pay for access to so they can remove residential and private cell phone numbers of those who do not wish to receive sales calls. That is it. It is not a blocking system or any other kind of preemptive system. It works exactly like a speed limit sign on the highways. Violators due get prosecuted if enough complaints are received and they can be tracked down. Unfortunately today's technology has outpaced the ability to easily track down the criminal organizations behind these scam calls.
Sounds like this guy is one of those telemarketer sympathizer, he must call people on the side, try to sell bogus trash to the unsuspecting! Yup these people called me too, did not say any thing they hung up after 30 seconds. I blocked their number!
The guy explained something that should be obvious to any thinking, in touch individual. His providing facts in no way makes him an apologist for the telemarketers. Only a narrow-minded twit could possibly interpret it that way.
Talk about delusional! The government can monitor our phone calls, read our emails but can't do anything about these telemarketing pests? How many of these violators do you know that have been prosecuted?
