I think the people calling are from an Online College... I tryied looking for a Job resently & they basically wouldn't get off the phone until I said they could send info. & someone could call... BUT I did not realized theses [***] Holes would keep calling instead of leaving a message like I told the guy to do & if I was really interested I would call them back
They've called me 6 times in the past 3 days and I have no clue who they are! It can't be a telemarketer because I registered my phone on the "Do Not Call" list
It most certainly can be a telemarketer regardless of whether you're on the do not call list or not. There are new telemarketers out there all the time and the DNC list only goes out quarterly, so if they're new and don't yet have the list they'll call. Also, telemarketers who are already in existence and have been reported to DNC often change their phone numbers so they can continue to call. Everyone who receives unwanted calls should go to the National Do Not Call website and register a complaint there. These forums are great because most times someone who posts here actually has discovered the name of the company that's calling, but the best way for everyone to stop the calls is to file a complaint on the NDNC site, which generally stops the calls very quickly.
Other problem... if they have your name sold to them stating you requested info, it overrides the DNC. It could be you were doing a survey, applying for a job, etc. There's lots of sneaky ways people get your name to sell it saying it's at your request.
