I keep receiving harassing calls from Financial Assest Resolution (213-784-7229) attempting to collect on a debt that is beyond the statue of limitations. Have asked them repeatedly to stop calling and during their call today they disclosed my private information to my husband who was not in any way legally responsible for an old credit card debt I had in the past, even though he explained to the caller who he was and that he would take a message for me. They went as far as to disclose credit information they obtained from one of the major credit bureaus that I applied for credit yesterday, which I did not apply for. We have left them a message to call back, so that we can speak with some one in management or from their legal department, since my husband worked for many years with Visa & master Card and was certified yearly by the three major bureaus to disclose and advise people on how to correct their credit and had legal authorization to discuss actual report information with the customers. This time they have stepped on the wrong feet and we have full intentions of filling with the appropriate authorities for harassment, threats, and violation of the privacy act .
Glad I looked it up before answering the phone...yes, they have been trying to re-date something from many years ago - they got my info because I've been disputing it on my credit reports for being well-past t SOL. 2 credit bureaus promptly deleted it and the 3rd I'm still fighting with on that.
These jackholes also sent me a letter fraudulently stating that they'd like to settle my account as agreed per our conversation on March 17th. ...I was out buying a new car that day. Pretty sure I wouldn't stop what I'm doing at a dealership while getting a car financed to call up a zombie debt collector to re-date something from my early 20s!!
As soon as I'm done whooping my health insurance company's behind, I'm going after these guys for FDCPA fraud!
how on God's green earth did they get my number? the caller allegedly claimed to have a business opportunity for my mother. I'm wondering how they got my mother's name! i hate getting spooky calls like this, so I just blocked their number from my phone. Creeps!
Company called Financial Asset Resolution calling my number looking for someone I've never heard of (other than the debt collector calls). I tell them they have the wrong number every time they call but they're insistent on calling again a couple days later.... nope. still haven't met this person they're looking for.
I don't know the name of the company this year, but every year around this time I get the same phone call in regards to an alleged debt. The debt was never valid, a judge ruled this, and it is over 15 years old. I think these collection agencies keep recycling these things on debts which are invalid in hopes that someone will take the bait and pay.
