I too got a call on my mobile from this # during lunch today, no name came up on the caller ID. I didn't answer and they left no message. I believe it is indeed CTG though as I also purchased some tickets a while back. I agree with Wendy, it's really not cool for them to use our info this way; while I get that non-profits are hurting this probably doesn't help. Thanks to arts lover for the info on the county office prefixes, definitely useful to know!
This is seriously suspicious. I got a call from this number, and immediately got one from a number that has been identified as somehow getting past Nomorobo by calling twice in close succession. It may actually be the Center Theater Group's number, but I'll bet it isn't actually them on the other end.
Maybe that's how they get past Nomorobo - call from a spoofed legitimate number and somehow hang on to the connection. The call log did show that the first call was 'missed', which is what happens when Nomorobo blocks a call.
When calling the number back a recording claims it's the Center Theatre Group and are selling ticket packages. Callers like this need to learn to be respectable by leaving a message identifying themselves, the purpose of their call and how to return their call IF we want to. And stop repeatedly calling and simply hanging up. Until then, the easiest action for me is to simply block their numbers.
It is the Center Theatre Group. I called the number back and got a recorded message that said they were subscriber services from the Music Center. I left a message and told them to stop calling my number or I would report them. It becomes harassment when they call every day and don't even leave a message.
