Got the same call a few minutes ago. Said he was a windows repair tech. I asked him if he worked for Microsoft and he said no, he worked as a windows repair tech for some xyz company. I said I know all about you - you are a frickin scammer trying to gain access to my computer so you can rip me off. After that statement from me he hung up. This is the second one I received from these scammers in a week. The next time they call, I am going to act like a dumb sucker and string the jerk along for as long as I can before I drop the f-bomb hammer on him.
this number keeps calling-have an id it is some hacker type as called 5 x once, and 3 or 4 x within a day. put my cell on ignore, but just keeps calling back. some agency should investigate this number.
I have been getting calls from this number for the past month. They usually call 4 to 5 times in a row. Hangup right as I answer when I call back I get a "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please hangup and try again."
they just callled me a few minutes ago too!! so I was called by 214-001-0590 seven times before I called them back (this was on my cell phone)
for starters, the connect was [***], his voice kept cutting out
and the man on the phone butchered my name but didn’t introduce himself and just went into saying how they were contacting me in regards to messages sent about my computer
Well I asked him what type of messages or whatever were being sent and he said that it was information regarding malicious content on my computer, and if I’d just turn it on he would be able to tell me how to remove
This is were I got a little suspect, even more so when he asked me if I was the main user of the computer and what my age was
At this point, I asked him who he was with or what company he was calling from and he stuttered and said he was with Windows Security or some [***]
so I asked him how he got my phone number and BAM dude hung up which is pretty suspect since they were so eager to talk to me before
I just had this happen on my phone. I asked what company he was with, Microsoft, Dell? He hesitated and said Uhm, Microsoft. I was like yeah ooookaaayyy...
