Caller ID said "Cedar Hill TX". Didn't pick up. Message left was a threatening man with a slightly weird accent warning of various legal actions to be taken against me. Wanted me to call so he could "help me" with this scary process.
Another fake 'you owe the gummint' message, this time from the "Treasury Department".
"Alan Page", who can barely speak English, "badge number 150794"
The usual "You'd better pay up or face legal action" "hearing scheduled before magistrate", etc.
Call the Federal Trade Commission and file a report with this number. I just did. Their number (and yes its a real number) is 877-382-4357. I got the number from Lori Swanson's office, she is the Attorney General for Minnesota. After you call the scammers back and tell them off, for fun of course.
Threatening message left by woman with foreign accent basically saying to contact them to avoid possible appearance before magistrate, etc. I didn't call back I figured it was some kind of scam.
I received the same type of message as you Ann. Although, thankfully, my phone hasn't been showing me I have messages even I do. This message cane a few months back, but threatened me nearly word for word of what she said to you. She also called the next day using almost the exact same phone Number expect the last two Numbers were 27 instead of 37. I clearly never called her back b/c only just found the message yesterday. The only reason I found it was b/c I was scammed by someone claiming to be from the IRS. I did leave that number on this site. But it was because of him, I found several of these other sights that had called me and thankfully, I never received them. I did, however, try to call the number above last night yo see if anyone would answer, & the number was disconnected. Big surprise!!
