These people call me everyday claiming to be from Microsoft or windows, but there's never any name on my caller ID. I got a call from them on 3-23-15 and argued with an indian sounding guy about my antivirus software. I just hung up on him because he would not take "no, I will not give you access to my computer" for an answer. Today they called from 214-396-9037. After looking that up I see it is definitely a scam. Please don't fall for this!
Called me, saying he was with Microsoft, and said my windows pc has been sending errors to the servers for the past few weeks and needs to remote on for assistance. I'm a computer repair technician, and i've had several customers fall for something like this. i told him that he needed to work on his script, and it sounded like it was his first day at ScamCo. his response was "go ahead, you can give this number to Microsoft, i'm not scared".
Then he called me again later, running the same script scam. this time i just told min my entire house is Linux based systems,(not really) and he hung up.
called a THIRD time, so i just answered the phone with "microsoft anti-scam hotline, how can i help you?" and he hung up.
microsoft WILL NEVER call you.
