Called and asked for me by name and then proceed to ask for a donation for the veterans. Called on a Sunday. I complete scam. If you want to donate. Please contact the charities directly and not by a random call.
I answered this phone because I husband was on a conference call. The caller asked if I was (my name) and when I said yes, he hung up. I called back and got a voice mail asking if I wanted to opt out of calls, enter 2.
So I have been hearing about people who just call to get a recording of someone saying yes then they apparently use it to sigh you up for all kinds of things. I am wondering if this is legit because, how could they do anything without further information and how could they possibly get it to stand up in court. Has anyone run into this?
I almost never answer strange calls but am waiting to hear back from a contractor, so I answered it. The man asked if he was speaking to Trixie, I said yes, then he claimed to be collecting money for veterans (DOUBTFUL!) and when he asked if he could send me an envelope for a donation I began explaining that I just went to part time hours and he hung up. When I called back, the only option is to press "2" to be allegedly be removed from their call list. SCAMMERS!
