Started receiving recorded phone calls from this number last week concerning a "case number". They call rentlessly. Received another call first thing this past Monday morning so decided to call back and find out what it was about. Spoke with "Greg Anderson", (probably not his real name) and he informed me that the call was concerning a credit card that went into collections back in 2001. Settled the debt directly with the bank in 2005, but I think they had already sold the debt to a collection agency. After payment, the charge off came off of my credit report. Anyway, "Greg" told me that they were going to go to the District Attorney's office and file this claim against me. I informed him that the debt had been settled, that his company had purchased a bogus debt, I wouldn't admit or deny any culpability, that his company was harassing me and if they did not cease immediately, I was going to report them to the FTC and the Texas State Attorney General. Haven't heard from them since.
Looks like a debt collector that uses a phone number in the same area code stating they are trying to send you a summons but really it is just scare tactics and wants you to call them back. They do not state who they are and are in violation of many collection laws.
believe this company to be a collection agency. called with a recording to say that they has a business proposition for me, but it was just a recording asking me to call some kind of toll free #. we do not owe anyone anything, but someone else with our same first and last names, but totally different address and middle initial, owes money to several creditors. these people are not researching who they are calling, just fishing around.
this is not a law firm this is a debt collector that purchased your debt, do not fall for their scare tactics they are liars and full of it, do not give them information only deal with them in writing...
They continue calling even after re-installing my number on the do not call list...they are relentless in their pursuit. they got my number from a reference to someone that owes them, and they call me fishing
for them and harassing me.....their awful, claim that you have an "overdrawn account" with them...
they called me looking for someone I know I took their information and told them I would give her the message if I saw her, but they keep calling very racist making comments about President Obama and asking why I'm not at work I must be on welfare I of corse was very irate with them as well after that, but they are cowardly callers hiding behind the phone and can't provide any real information about who they are or where they're calling from. I need to know who I can contact about these calls.
