Caller id read "FRISCO CONF 2". They did not leave any message on my answering machine. So, with my own caller id hidden, I called back, and a recorded sing-songy female voice answered "thank you for calling the American Heart Association fundraising program". Apparently the latest in a long string of numbers used by a scammer pretending to raise money for the Association. (Otherwise, why would they create a phony caller id identity, and then not leave any message?) I've added this to my blocked numbers list (which totals over 500 and counting -- the only question is whether the 1500 capacity that I have will be enough to block all these creeps).
My Panasonic phone system holds 30 crank calls. Obviously, that fills up pretty quick. Periodically, I go into it, and delete about 10 from the back end...as those gave up a while ago. If you know any accounting, this is FIFO!
It is rare that those numbers from a few months ago will call back. They have just tried, failed, & quit...yet still sold my number to other scammers!
Mike if you block every number it will fill up fast, I block the entire individual area code. They say there is just under 300 area codes in the U.S. I have 200 blocked so far and the calls are not as bad as they once were. I do keep a list in case someone in the future decides to take real action on these low life scum bags from hell. This particular sewer rat tries every few weeks and my block zaps him like the disease that they are and they are a disease.
