I have been getting harrassed by the people calling from this number, saying that they will have me arrested at my job for fraud. My boss called me this morning because they called him and said that if I did not pay within 24 hours they will work with local law enforcement to have me arrested. His name is John something and he claims to be an investigator. I defaulted on a payday loan 3 years ago, I am assuming what this is about. Can I really be arrested for this??
I have been getting a call from this number too from a name of Mr. Page and his first name did start with a J as well. He called the Human Resources department and asked how they can go about arresting me which is something your employer has no control over. I wouldnt worry about it. It's just people trying to get money out of you. I have been scammed this way because I was scared of getting in trouble because I too owed payday loans but you can't go to jail for it. You can be taken to court but thats about it. He has called my job 3 times, each from the same number but each saying he was from a different place. He's not fooling me.
I have received calls from this number and this Mr. Page claims to be with the court system in Dallas, TX. He is not. I don't owe any loans and the last four digits of a SSN that he quoted were not even close to mine. I told him not to call me again but I also notified the district attorneys office in Dallas that this guy was claiming to be part of the court system, they were not happy! I'm betting they will handle it.
