I wouldnt listen to anyone on here saying not to pay their account if they owe it. I read everyone's post on here and determined I wasnt going to pay on an old credit card I had. I was served a week later to appear in court. The credit card company filed a judgement. Then 3-months later I received notice from my employer they had received court documents staying 225.00 was to be taken out of each of my checks. I was now being garnished. Not for the $700.00 amount of the credit card, but an additional 2500.00 had been added for interest, court costs, & attorney fees. This entire situation has been a nightmare. I would suggest calling the person back and working out something. If this post helps one person to avoid the situation I have put myself in because I listened to someone on this site, I would be happy. Thank you Paul.
I was served papers today from these people about an old account with HSBC. I think this is a collection attorney. I'm calling the court about it tomorrow.
You want to tell us the name of the plaintiff? How about the name of the court, the name of the attorney, the address of the court, and the name of the plaintiff.
