A woman called my cell from this number (214-380-2023) and said my full name (I don't know how they got it) and said it was very important that I call them back at a 800 number (NOT the number they called from which makes it very suspicious). She did not identify the company she called from or anything at all. This was a very suspicious call. WHO IS PROTECTING US FROM THESE CRIMINALS?????
Please cite your source. The Federal Trade Commission, Nolo Press, and various consumer law experts disagree with you. The FTC puts it this way:
"In some states, if you pay any amount on a time-barred debt or even promise to pay, the debt is 'revived.' This means the clock resets and a new statute of limitations period begins. It also often means the collector can sue you to collect the full amount of the debt, which may include additional interest and fees."
To modify John's comment, debt expires with the SoL in two states having a Statute of Repose. Even so, making any admission against self interest may be enough to inspire a determined scofflaw collector to threaten or actually file suit.

>> if you admit to an expired debt the statut starts over buddy <<
Do you have a citation for that?
As Resident47 stated, making a payment on an expired debt WILL start the clock again. But "admitting" to such a debt might not. Give us a confirmable citation, and we might believe you.
This guy Keith Bell will call and say you owe a certain amount of money but he can't tell you for what don't give any information to them when I informed the lady that called that I felt it was a scam she called me the b word and said don't worry about it then and hung up the phone so do t give any information out.
