Just received a call from an unknown number from Dallas, I let it go to voicemail. Same thing as others have said, a girl claiming to be Ashley Martin was calling about reducing my monthly credit card payments like we had talked about before.
I don't have a credit card and had never talked to her before.
Caller left a message stating that she was "Ashley Martin" and that we had spoken last week about reducing my monthly payments on my credit card and interest rates.
She also said it'd be her "last courtesy call" so I'm hoping it is.

I got a call from this number this morning. I listened to the voicemail. She claimed her name was Ashley Martin and that "we had spoken last week about lowering my interest rates on my credit cards." No. We didn't speak last week. Reasons why? First, because I worked for a credit card company for several years and am blindingly aware of these scams. Secondly, because my husband and I only have one debt in our names and it is the mortgage on our house. No credit cards. It is a scam.
I don't think this is something you can stop by being on the do not call list, so filing a complaint with the "do not call list" people isn't going to stop it. It's a scammer trying to get you to provide them with your information. Reporting the number to your state's attorney general (like someone mentioned above) is probably the best thing you can do.
Just a side note: again, I have years of experience working for an extremely reputable credit card company and I will tell you. If you get a call from someone promising these things, ignore it. If you want to lower your interest rates or need credit counseling, there are TONS of non profit credit counceling options. I would recommend finding a local credit councelor in your area.
I get all of my voice mails transcribed by Vonage so here's the one I got from "CDC" today.
"I wanted to let you know that I did find the solution. We've got a program that can lower those interest rates to as low as one.5% and possibly cut your monthly payments in half and said you are only making the minimum payment. This would be a great opportunity for you. This will be my last courtesy call so please give me a ring today. You can reach me here at 1-877-828-7254. Again my number here is 187782287254"
They've called before, but this is the first time they've left a message.
