This is actually a real number BUT it is spoofed to look like 214-409-4899, when in fact it is disguised and originating through VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) and more than likely is some jerk in a basement in Moscow.
NEVER - EVER fall for the bait of "lowering your credit card rate, or a "you won a free ocean cruise" or a free home security system.
Caller ID read "Heritage Auction" - so I called the number back to tell them to remove my name and got a recording saying the caller was phony and I should report it to the authorities.
I just tried the phone number, too, and got the same recording. Apparently, the scammers are making it appear as if this is their number. But it isn't. The number actually belongs to Heritage Auctions.
