Caller at first wouldn't say anything when I answered call - just sniffled into the phone, so I hung up. Called again a few minutes later asking for the owner of our company by first name only - trying to sound like a casual friend of his. When I asked who is calling, he only gave a first name, so I asked 'from what company?' which is when he gave me "Magna Resources here in Dallas" (but we're in NH, not TX.) My boss had no interest in taking the call. When I looked up Magna Resources, their website listed them as "Magna Resources Corporation, located in Dallas, Texas, was founded in 1995 to pursue opportunities in exploration, development and production of oil and gas wells in the southwest. " We're not in any industry related to oil or gas production, so I would guess they are looking for potential investors.

My business received two calls from this number in two days, and neither time did the caller leave a message. I called the number back both times and got a recorded message, "The person you are trying to reach is not available at this time." I think it's safe to dismiss the next call from these folks.
